Regina Ribeiro was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil where she grew up and studied.

At age 23 she left home in order to go to the U.S.A. In the U.S. she represented Brazil at the Lowell Arts Festival (Ma), conducted workshops in Boston and continued her studies in New York. After that she lived in Paris and travelled to Africa to do research in the Ivory Coast and Ghana. In 1983 she came to Switzerland, where she has since lived and participated in a great number of intercultural projects. For the past 27 years she has been professionally involved in many different projects and has appeared in countries such as Brazil, U.S.A, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Scandinavia, Japan and Switzerland.

When Regina Ribeiro began singing she had already been dancing for 14 years. That is why she integrates dancing into her concerts, be it as a solo dance performance or together with a guest troop.
